Loventhe pics you posted. :) I'm glad for the update and I'm sure it is a lot to process and think about. Are you feeling better? It is awful to be sick on a trip and especially on the flight home. I'm glad you got to curl up with Steve and cry and it let it all out. Three weeks is a long time my friend! So proud of you for doing this, what an amazing feat and experience! xoxo

My mother (who works in child behavior and development) SWEARS that children with siblings don't 'need' preschool. I am sure there are plenty that would disagree. I certainly haven't noticed a difference in my daugther's abilities or knowledge since starting preschool - but I have noticed a huge surge in her self-confidence. I think so much depends on the temperament of the child and the dynamic of the family. For us, pre-school has been wonderful for our daughter - however, many of the things that I think make it wonderful (being independent from her parents, making her own friends, figuring things out on her own) would also be achieved in a daycare setting - we simply have no need for daycare. She is three, almost four, and since starting pre-school they have only gone over how how to write the first letter of her name (she is in a private preschool that is very popular in our area). I taught her how to write her entire name, we taught her shapes and colors, and we are teaching her counting. I think if your daugther is developing normally and is well adjusted to her daycare environment, then you are already doing everything right.

We just booked the tickets last week so the reality is setting in. I am slightly nervous about leaving the kids, but mostly, I'm really really excited :)

I agree with you about fast food and kids.

And a 3 week hike in the Himalaya's? Seriously?! I am SO jealous! Hiking the Everest base camp been a dream of mine for quite some time. But I can totally relate to the mom panic of being out of touch with the kiddos for that long. Best of luck to you, I hope you share with us your all about your adventure!

I'm impressed that you were able to do the Hypo Half a few weeks ago (what a great day for a race though, eh?) with all the rest that you seem to have going on, so kudos!

By the way, tag, you're it! I've tagged you in the following post and would love to read your answers:

There are so many things I love about this post. You are so thoughtful and always word things so well. We already have a hard time keeping up with our house and the cleaning and there are only us two and the puppy! Just imagine how it will be when the baby arrives. But I think we need to choose our battles, like you said, no one is judging the dust on your shelf or the dog fur in the corner, etc. When people come over unexpectedly or I haven't had time to tidy we always preface it with, our house is a mess. And they always say it isn't! I think we are our own worst enemies and critics. Thanks for the texts this weekend. :) xoxo

On my computer!!! So I can actually comment on your blog instead of just reading. I wish my ipad would let me comment. At any rat, I know I've texted that I've loved several of your recent posts and this one is no exception. I love the quote your yoga teacher said at the beginning of class....you are strong - you have nothing to prove to anyone! We all see it but it is harder for you yourself to see what is right in front of you, your strengths. :) xoxo Will text you later!

Magic Erasers are the BEST. I buy a box of them every other month or so, from Costco. I am also loving Lysol wipes. Yep. I'm a hippie cleaning product lover most of the time, but in the season of barfies and whatnot, I'm a Lysol wipe addict for faucets, door handles, bathroom and railings. I try to follow behind with some Dr. Bronner's soap and water, so the boys don't pick up the chemical residue, but I feel so much better when I smell the lemony-bleach scent and know I've killed the baddies. :) My third current great love? Coconut oil! I slather my face and hands and body in it, use it for cooking, toss a bit in a smoothie. My face hasn't been this happy in a long time. :)
